Hakan Akbas is the Senior Advisor of Albright Stonebridge Group (founded by President Clinton’s former Secretary of State Dr. Madeleine K. Albright) in Washington DC and Turkey with more than 20 years of progressively responsible, international experience directing as many as 5,000 employees with revenues in excess of $2.5 billion in Turkey, the US, Europe, and China. Based in Istanbul, Turkey, and Washington, DC, Mr. Akbas brings to clients operating experience in leading companies with strategic planning, business restructuring, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, government relations and new business development.  Mr. Akbas has successfully negotiated several multi-billion dollar deals including mergers & acquisitions, joint-ventures, strategic alliances and divestitures. Mr. Akbas is also a Founding and Managing Partner at Global Dealings Group, a business advisory firm focusing on corporate governance, restructuring & turnarounds, business development, and transaction advisory for family-owned businesses and holding companies. From 2006 to 2011, Mr. Akbas was the Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Business Development, and Insurance Businesses of $15 billion Sabanci Group.  He also advised Güler Sabanci, chairperson of Sabanci Group and one of world’s top 3 most powerful women by Financial Times in 2013.  Previously, Mr. Akbas was the co-founder and Managing Director of Business Development Operations for Xerox Global Services with sales of $10 billion. He is a member of Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals (ASAP), Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), Turnaround Management Association, Endeavor Global, and Corporate Governance Association of Turkey (TKYD) and currently serves on the boards of several public and private companies.  Hakan Akbas was a member of Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TUSIAD) and European Round Table of Industrialists (ERT).
