Kerim Kotan, a senior investment banker with 20+ years of transaction experience, is a partner at Ventura Partners, a leading M&A advisory house in Turkey. Prior to joining Ventura, Kotan had spearheaded the Turkish investment banking franchises at local M&A houses such Global Securities and Pragma as well as international banks including Standard Bank, ABN AMRO Bank and Republic National Bank. Kotan also serves on the Boards of various Turkish and international firms. In the Turkish M&A scene, Kotan is ranked among the top bankers with a deal volume of USD16 billion and 30 closed deals ranging between USD25 million to USD6.5 billion. Kotan’s experience covers privatisations, private acquisitions, mergers, publicly traded company takeovers, partnerships, JVs, divestments, restructurings, IPO/SPOs and equity private placements. Kotan has gained a wide industry experience including energy, telecoms, infrastructure, industrials, Food&Beverage, retail, healthcare, TMT, FI and healthcare. Kotan sits on various boards and provides strategical advice pertaining to international expansion, debt/equity financing and regulatory/corporate governance matters. Born and raised in Istanbul, Kotan had graduated from Cushing Academy in the US (‘91); Lehigh University (US) with a BSc. degree in Mech. Engr. (‘95); and Cornell University (US) with an MBA degree (‘97).
